Call for International Conference on Urban Legends, Myths and Horror – Hybrid Event “What my Granny once told me…”

We are excited to extend an invitation to you for our upcoming International Conference on Urban Legends, Myths, and Horror - a Hybrid Event that aims to delve into the intriguing intersection of urban legends, horror narratives, and human geography.

The conference will explore the multifaceted relationship between urban myths and the horror genre, with a special focus on their expressions in the Adriatic, Mediterranean, and Balkan regions. This unique gathering seeks to uncover the deep-rooted connections between regional cultures, landscapes, and the horror genre, offering a platform for new and innovative theoretical frameworks.

Please submit your 300-word abstract and a short biographical note (100 words) to grannysconference@gmail.com by 11 February 2024. Clearly outline your proposed topic, methodology, and its relevance to the conference theme. Specify your attendance preference (in-person or online). Proposals for panels, roundtable discussions, and performances are also welcome.

The conference will be held both on-site at the University of Zadar, Croatia and online, via Zoom platform from 11 to 12 April 2024. Conference fee is 50 euros and payment instructions will be forwarded following the acceptance of your proposal.
