Please note that the language of instruction is generally Croatian (except at the Department of French and Francophone Studies, the Department of Hispanic and Iberian Studies, the Department of German Studies, the Department of Italian Studies, the Department of English Studies and the Department of Russian Studies). However, some of the courses are held in English and/or in other foreign languages. The list of these courses can be found here. Some of the data is susceptible to change.

Foreign students have the opportunity to attend the course "Croatian Language and Culture A1" which is intended for all interested attendees who would like to get a basic knowledge of the Croatian language and culture (literature, art, history, geography, music, sports etc.) in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CERF). The course is open to all the incoming students at the University of Zadar who have little or no previous knowledge of Croatian language. The course is held at the Department of Croatian Studies and it consists of two modules: A1.1 and A1.2 (4 ECTS credits for each module). Each module consists of 75 teaching hours in the duration of 15 weeks.
