The Ambassador of the Republic of Portugal visited the University of Zadar


The Ambassador of the Republic of Portugal in Republic of  Croatia, HE  Mrs.  Maria Paula Vieira Lael Da Silva paid an inaugural visit to the University of Zadar on Wednesday, April 14. On this ocasion, Portuguese  Ambassador, Education Attache Maria Jose Homem and Embassy Associate Meri Grubić Videc have expressed to their hosts, prorectors  Phd  Nedjeljka Balić Nižić, Phd  Zvjezdan Penezić and Phd Slaven Zjalić, impressions about Zadar beauty, the first city they visited since the start of the mandate in November last year.
- We came here in order to establish contacts, because spreading contacts open the possibility of knowledge exchange . We have lots of things in common, mentality of the  people, hospitality,  we like to communicate with each other. These connections are advantage in further deepening cooporation, bringing our country closer to you and your country to ours,  said H.E. Paula Lael Da Silva.
Portugal is the country currently holding the presidency of the European Union and one of the Ambassador’s tasks is to bring Croatia’s goals closer to common European  goals. Also, the University in Zadar was offered to set up an exhibition about great writer and Nobel laureate Joseu Saramag.
Prorectors have expressed their satisfaction with current cooporation with the Portuguese  Embassy, Portuguese Universities  and exchange of students and teachers through Erasmus+ program, with the belief that in the next period  it will be raised to an even higher level.
