On Thursday, 6 November 2014, a presentation of the project entitled “Multidimensional analysis of the social inclusion of children and students with disabilities in the educational process” was held in the Great Hall of the University of Zadar. The project coordinator is the Croatian Deafblind Association „Touch“, in partnership with the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences and the Social Work Study Centre of the Law Faculty in Zagreb.
The aim of the project is to achieve a better insight into the social inclusion of the children and students with disabilities into the educational system. Research results will contribute to better understanding of the needs that the children and students with disabilities experience during their education, and will serve as a tool for decision-makers to improve the educational policy and responsibility of the state in promoting social inclusion of the persons in an unfavourable position during their education.
Associate Professor Robert Bacalja, Vice Rector for Studies and Student Matters, offered a warm welcome to the audience and supported the project with the goal to promote equal opportunities in the educational system for students with disabilities.
After the Vice Rector's introductory speech, there followed the presentation of the “Research Report”, and Marina Bura, a student with a disability, talked about her experience.
