Indian Ambassador Visits the University of Zadar


His Excellency Sandeep Kumar, Ambassador of the Republic of India, visited the University of Zadar on Thursday, 3 March 2016. The distinguished guest was hosted by Associate Professor Nedjeljka Balić – Nižić, Deputy Rector for Studies and Student Affairs, and Associate Professor Slaven Zjalić, Deputy Rector for Inter-Institutional Cooperation and Technology Transfer. The meeting was also attended by Assistant Professor Snježana Zorić from the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology at the University of Zadar.

After the introduction, the ambassador and deputy rectors talked about the current cooperation between the two countries, the possibilities of further academic and cultural cooperation at a university level as well as joined projects.

The idea of offering the Hindu language and Indian culture courses, whether as a part of existing or elective new courses, was brought up at the meeting. The possible organisation of lectures on the rich Indian culture that would be held by the Ambassador to the University of Zadar's students was also being discussed.

The Ambassador also announced the organisation of the Day of India through which India would be presented through lectures and workshops on the Hindu language, literature, Indian cuisine, and culture in general.
