Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia Visits the University of Zadar


The University of Zadar hosted His Excellency Agus Sardjana, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, who was accompanied by Sandri Ghifari, Third Secretary, on Thursday, 14 January 2016.

The distinguished visiting diplomats were received in the Rector's Hall by Associate Professor Ivanka Stričević, PhD, Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Information Infrastructure; Associate Professor Slaven Zjalić, PhD, Vice-Rector for Inter-Institutional Cooperation and Technology Transfer; Associate Professor Leonardo Marušić, PhD; Associate Professor Dunja Brozović Rončević, PhD, from the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology, and Maja Kolega, MA, Head of the International Relations Office of the University of Zadar.

Associate Professor Slaven Zjlaić, PhD, offered greeting words of welcome to everyone present and expressed a wish to widen a mutual academic and cultural cooperation between the University of Zadar and Indonesian universities through student and staff exchange programmes and through mutual scientific research.

The visit was a continuation of an earlier visit of the Indonesian delegation to the University of Zadar during which a letter of intention was signed having as an aim the cooperation between the University of Zadar and the Indonesian University of Technology in Yogyakarta:

The Indonesian Ambassador Sardjana confirmed the interest of the Indonesian academic community for cooperation with the University of Zadar and expressed a wish to continue to strengthen economic, cultural, and touristic relations between the two nations.
