The Commencement of UNIADRION General Assembly


UNIADRION General Assembly took place in the University of Zadar's Great Hall (Obala kralja P. Krešimira IV/ 2, 2nd floor) at 9.30 AM on May 5 2016. UNIADRION is a network of universities and research centres from the Adriatic-Ionian region. The University of Zadar was this year's host of the Assembly.

After welcoming speeches held by Zvonimir Vrančić, Deputy Mayor, on behalf of the town of Zadar, and Ivan Šimunić, Head of Administrative Department for Social Activities, on behalf of Zadar County, Professor Ugo Vlaisavljević, the representative of the Rector of the University of Sarajevo, spoke to the Assembly.

Full Professor Dijana Vican, Rector, wished a warm welcome to UNIADRION's participants, especially to the representatives of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, and the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, with whose cooperation a round table discussion was held on “Inter-university Cooperation – Connecting High Education and Labour Market“. The Rector expressed her belief that the cooperation would continue on a yearly basis.  Wishing that the conference would proceed successfully, and be filled with constructive suggestions and discussions, she pronounced this year's UNIADRION General Assembly open.

The representatives of 21 universities from Italy, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Greece, following the representatives of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Adriatic-Ionian Initiative, Agency for EU programmes and Mobility, Zadar County and the town of Zadar, participated at UNIADRIONS General Assembly.

After the opening, the programme of UNIADRION General Assembly continued with a series of interesting lectures.
