The Competition includes the following categories and will award the following prizes:

·         MATTADOR Award for Best Feature-Film Screenplay: 5000 Euros.

·         MATTADOR Award for Best Story: 1500 Euros. Top finalists for Best Story are awarded a Training Grant: under the tutoring of professional screenwriters, they will be trained in the development of their stories. At the end of the training programme, the best-developed story receives 1500 Euros.

·         CORTO86 Award for Best Short-Film Screenplay: the winning author is awarded a Training Grant and an opportunity to produce a short film based on the winning short film screenplay. Professionals will tutor the author throughout the whole filmmaking process (pre-production, production, post-production, direction).

·         DOLLY "Screenwriting with pictures" Award for Best Story illustrated through images: the winner is awarded a Training Grant to develop his/her story under tailor-made tutoring of professionals, which leads to the drafting of a final dossier for the feature or animation film project. At the end of the training programme, depending on the commitment shown and the results achieved by the winner, the tutors may agree to award an additional prize of 1000 Euros.

Winners get the chance to attend masterclasses, lectures and seminars on screenwriting and other cinema-related topics. Mattador also offers young talents the opportunity to see their stories published in the editorial series "Scrivere le immagini. Quaderni di sceneggiatura" (EUT University Press). For further information about the publications, do not hesitate to contact us or visit the EUT website for the digital version.
