Ambassador of the Italian Republic visits the University of Zadar


The Rector of the University of Zadar, Full Professor Dijana Vican, hosted His Excellency Adriano Chiodi Cianfarani, Ambassador of the Italian Republic; Italian Consul General in Rijeka Mister Paolo Palminteri; the consular correspondent in Zadar Mrs Rina Villani, and the Secretary of the Executive Committee of the Italian Union Mr Marino Corvo on Wednesday, January 11, 2017.

Associate Professor Nedjeljka Balić-Nižić, Deputy Rector for Studies and Student Affairs, Associate Professor Slaven Zjalić, Deputy Rector for Inter-Institutional Cooperation and Technology Transfer, and Associate Professor Valter Tomas, Head of the Department of Italian Studies, were also present at the reception.

After welcoming words and introductions, the current academic and cultural cooperation at a university level between the two neighbourly countries was discussed. Contentment with the present cooperation was expressed, but also the readiness to continue, improve and promote different aspects of cooperation in the future.

The University of Zadar realizes very good cooperation with Italian universities within the Erasmus + programme: 24 Erasmus + contracts on inter-university mobility and exchange, as well as bilateral contracts on cooperation signed with numerous Italian higher education institutions attest to it.
