Vanda Mikšić, Assistant Professor at the Department of French and Iberoromance Studies, was rewarded with the medal of knight of the Order of Arts and Letters by Mrs Michèle Boccoz, Ambassador of the Republic of France in Croatia, on behalf of Mrs Fleur Pellerin, Minister of Culture and Communications.

The medal has been awarded since 1957 by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of France, for special contributions in the area of arts and literature.

Assistant Professor Vanda Mikšić has received it for her contribution in the area of literature, i.e. literary translation, as she has translated many modern French literary and philosophical works (Barthes, Baudrillard, Breton, Cioran, Derrida, Echenoz, Foucault, Kundera, Nancy, Perec, Queneau, Vian), including several collections of Croatian poets into French.
