Indonesian Day at the University of Zadar

Indonesian Day was held in mutual organisation of the University of Zadar and the Republic of Indonesia Embassy on 18 May in the University's Great Hall.

The visit was a follow-up of an earlier visit of the Indonesian delegacy to the University of Zadar. During the meeting, a letter of intention was signed between the University of Zadar and the Indonesian University of Technology in Yogyakarta, for the purposes of academic cooperation, either through students and staff mobility programmes, or through the conduct of scientific research.

Full Professor Leonardo Marušić, Vice-Rector, gave a welcoming word saying that this was the first time Indonesian Day was organised in Zadar and that he hoped that was only the beginning of a new cooperation between the two countries.

His Excellency Agus Sardjana, Indonesian Ambassador, on whose proposal Indonesian Day was organised, expressed the wish to strengthen economic, cultural, and touristic relations between the two nations.

The following interesting and educational lectures were held in the English language: Indonesia in Croatia by Associate Professor Dunja Brozović Rončević, the head of Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology; Indonesia Capital Market Growth by Dr Tri Gunarsih, Director of Master Management Programme at the Technological University in Yogyakarta; Eco City Design by Dr Endy Marlina, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology (the Technological University in Yogyakarta); Indigenous languages of Indonesia: their uniqueness and danger of extinction by Dr Yohanes Radjaban, Deputy Vice-Rector for Student Affairs of the Technological University in Yogyakarta; and Indonesian culture, unity in diversity by Dr Eko S. Humanika, Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies.
