ESN Zadar is a part of Erasmus Student Network (ESN), a non-profit international student organisation. Its mission is to represent international students, thus provide opportunities for cultural understanding and self-development under the principle of Students Helping Students. For more information on ESN Zadar visit its web page or facebook page.
We strongly recommend that all incoming students use its mentor service Buddy System UNIZD which helps incoming students in their arrival and stay in Zadar. “Buddies” are the students of the University of Zadar who take the mentor role and assist incoming student during his/her exchange. You should know that they do that on a voluntary basis in their spare time.
They are expected to help incoming student in at least the following ways:
- help them to understand the layout of Zadar and get used to the new environment (local transport routes, bus connections, office hours, opening a bank account etc.),
- help to integrate them by way of social events such as parties and cultural programmes,
- help them throughout the semester if a problem arises.
The motivation for participation in this system both for incoming students and their “buddies” is to meet new people, to get to learn more about other cultures and countries, to improve language skills and, after all, to have fun.
The incoming student should fill in the application form at least 30 days before their arrival in Zadar and send it via e-mail to the Buddy System contact person (e-mail: email@example.com).
